Begnas Lake is located, north-west of the Rupa lake separated by a hill named Sundari Dada, is the second largest lake among the nine lakes, in Pokhara Metropolitan City (ward no-31) of Kaski district, under Gandaki Province. The area, watershed area and average depth of this seepage lake is 328 ha, 18.58 sq. km and 6.6 meter respectively and is fed by several inlets like Syangkhudi Khola which is a major source. The lake is currently used for fishery (under the control of the Fisheries Cooperative Society), recreation and irrigation. The local fishes found here include Tilapia, Rahu, Naini, Bhakur, Sahar, Hilemachha etc. The Lake is on the foot-hill of the mountain ranges of Mt. Annapurna, Mt. Machhapuchre, Mt. Dhaulagiri and Mt. Manaslu. The lake embraces the evergreen hills and this lake changes its colour according to the season. The Begnas Lake has large size area with wide view which makes it more beautiful than other small lakes of Pokhara Valley.

There is very good transportation service through Lekhnath Microbus which departs every 4 minute from Pokhara city to Begnas Lake. There are many resorts, hotels and lodges, home-stay (at Pachvaiya, which takes about 20-minute cycling from Beganstal Bazaar), restaurants, khaja-ghar in the periphery of Begnas Lake. They serve fresh fish of Begnas Lake as well as accommodation services. Grilled-Fish, Fish roast item of this lake are very popular among visitors. Especially, people visit Majhikuna as it is very peaceful spot with great view of lake. There are a number of boats in Begnas Lake managed by Begnas Boat Entrepreneurs Association. The visitors can do boating with a life jacket and watch various flora and fauna and relax in peace. Some stop the boat in the middle of the lake and swim. Various bird-lovers visit Begnas Lake with binoculars and camera for bird-watching purpose. As this lake provide habitat to a number of migratory birds and local birds like King-fisher, it has become a bird habitat and an excellent site for bird-lovers too. Fishing can be done in this lake.
